Hey Nick,

Okay, fair enough on the coupon. We are probably all better off if it comes in closer to the $250 mil figure. I remain curious as to whether a convention hotel will be a part of that, and whether the garage under the park will be included in that as well. I guess we will have to wait and see.

It doesn't look like I will be back in OKC this summer, but I am still interested in contributing however I can. It would be great to work with you on these - and future - projects. Let me know how I can help.

Also, if I do make it home to OKC for a weekend or something, it would be great to talk more over lunch.

Look forward to it.

Hey Blair,

The original convention center estimates haven't changed. The report actually said $400-250 mil (so no coupon there, although that would be pretty convenient). I don't think anybody expects a $400 mil convention center. I've been closely following what other cities have done for their convention centers..and Fort Worth and Pittsburgh both have expansive new convention centers. I'm a big fan of Pittsburgh's that was just finished, and I think is bigger than what we really need - which cost them $200 mil. I am a big fan of the convention center proposition but I would cringe to see it cost us over $250 mil.

On a side note, I don't know if you're coming back from Boston this summer..but I came back from Calgary last week. I've been thinking about getting involved with Jeff Bezdek's team, and I thought it would be a pretty cool effort for all of us local bloggers (even though I am hardly active enough as a blogger) to converge on. Let me know what you think.

This is outrageous. I just fired a letter off to the mayor essentially saying that I’m for the park and convention center, but damn it all if he replaces transit with south river enhancements.

This river and core-to-shore focus just strikes me as a hell of a gamble to take when we’ve got low-hanging fruit waiting all over the city.
